playing video with avi on mac I browsed previous forums and didnt see anything regarding avi specifically. Can you help ? thanx |
Sure, QuickTime can normally play them w/o problems. |
Well, it takes more than that. Go to System Preferences > QuickTime > Plug-In > MIME settings > Then click the down arrow on the option "Video", and select AVI. Done! |
To play DivX avis, you will need the codec: www.divx.com (I don't know if Quick Time supports them). Ivan In the dark we make a brighter light |
General Macintosh? Of course that is how you navigate in OSX. In OS 9.2.2, the easy way is, go to apple menu>control panel>Quicktime settings>Browser settings>MIME settings |
Try downloading DiVX. I had Monty Python Life of Brian and another avi file that worked only after I downloaded DiVX |
down load vlc from download.com |
VLC will not only play avi but also supports most video formats. wmv, mpeg, real ect. the list goes on for ever. VLC is free plays alot of formats and you dont have to download 400 codecs. |
