Constant Freezes--HELP: Mac OS 9.1, Limewire 1.3

Whenever I run the application, it freezes within a few minutes. It happens for no particular reason. I have plenty of RAM (112 megs). It will even do it if I have nothing running in the background and I don't even touch my keyboard after I double-click on the app. Please help. The problem happened w/ v.1.2, but seems worse now. I haven't once got through a session w/o having to force quit or restart. Also, after it freezes and if I am able to forcequit, it somehow messes up the internet (navigator, AIM, everything) until I restart. I have no extensions that should conflict. Please help.

System:
Powermac 7500 w/ G3 400 Mhz card
112 MB RAM
Mac OS 9.1
LimeWire 1.3

JohnColby....

I have the same problem. I'm on a PowerBook G3 400 with plenty of RAM and running OS 9.1. I also get freezes for no apparent reason, and have tried running it with all sorts of extensions disabled and what not.

I think this version (1.3) may have issues with OS 9.1. Other than that, I can't see why it isn't working -- unless 1.3 has issues of its own, entirely separate from the OS it's running on.

Anyone else have a clue?

I just loaded 1.3 and I too am running 9.1 with my 400 iMac. The program continues to freeze and Im now wondering if it is even worth continuing until the next release. Is anyone having better luck with 9.1?

After an initial five-hr glory period of fast response and normal functioning, I now have the same problem, and stupid patience kept my trying. I've asked LimeWire about it, but it'd be good if someone from there would come on and try to explain the problem. hint hint hint

Install a personal firewall software and the problem goes away....
