apple mac connecting via a windows small busness server

I know a lot has been written about this but I have failed to find anything that works
The problem is getting a connection after looking through all the threads and trying what seems to be every port comnbination I have finnaly given up trying to figure out the problem
I have a mac running os 9.2.2 it is connected to a windows small business server which give the mac its ip address this is locked and is the same every time the mac is booted up. The server controls all incoming and outgoing emails and internet connections via a zyxel prestige 600 ADSL router.
The server has been set up to allow all ports from my mac to be open.
So for example my msn messenger... the connection window indicates that this software is not using a proxy server. My FTP sofware aslo is set up in a way that says that it also is not using a proxy server. But Limewire does not connect regardless of what port and regardless if I set it up with or without proxy server activated. The only time I get any activity is when I turn proxy off and try to connect , then a list of hosts stream in... in the connections window but they all indicate a status of connecting, but none actually connect. Does any one know how to set this up so it works?? or what it means cos I am stumped
Thank you .... to any body who can help.

This is not my type of thread but just to get the ball rolling: (1) When LW is open, click Options & go to Bug report & click for an example. In the window that appears scroll down to the part that says: "Recieved incoming this session". If it says ‘True’ then LW has no problem with firewalls, but if 'False' it does have a prob. (2) Also go to Options & Statistics & report back here the results.

So is the answer to (1) true/false? & (2) What type of responses for uplding & dwnlding?

the first answer is false it says 0Received incoming this session
the answer to the next is
curent hosts 0
total hosts 0
total files 0
total file MBS 0
any ideas?? what to do next

To help anybody else out there the pc's that had lime wire installed on them worked straight out of the box no adjustments or anything, unfortunatly all these pc's have been scrapped, so I cant even lok up the settings they had when the software was installed.

Which OS are you using? OS X?
Is you are, it's possible that you haven't configured your firewall to allow LW to access the net.
Alternatively, you may have another firewall up.
If that doesn't work too, try deleting the prefs.

First I would force the IP and port 6346. Go in options - advanced - force IP to do so. Second I would see let LW connect for a few minutes. If it doesn't connect, there is a problem at the server or router problem. Often a server is NATing your IP and a router is giving an address like 192.168.1.100. Those are two obstacles and LW isn't programmed to bypass those two (only one at the time). You'll have to play with the server and router settings. If you are no good at networks and nobody at your company is, forget it. Better to get things from LW at home. Companies and P2P sharing aren't going well with each other. Except if you set an internal P2P network for your company, but this is not useful for a small company.

Bonne chance

Hey! It's not my fault! It was a friend's birthday and it seems we raised one can of beer too many...
