No connect
 

Replaced a *really* old version of LM with 4.0.8 on a Mac w/OS 8.6 (hey, it's working fine!). Old LM worked fine, but thought the new one would be better.

The new one never connects. It sits on "connecting" for a few minutes, then gives up.

Help!

Do 2 things, no 3: 1. whilst LW is closed, delete the LW prefs file. It's called .limewire & can be found at the top of the system Preferences folder (when in list mode.) Try again. But it means you will need to reset your options so make a record of your settings before you do this. 2. Update to the latest Java for your OS version which is MRJ 2.2.5 for OS 8.1-9.2 http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75097 3. After installing any apps, it's wise to rebuild the desktop folder. ie: restart the computer whilst holding down the Command+Option keys
