OS 9.1/LW Pro 4.0.2 not working

OS: 9.1
MRJ: 2.2.5
LW Pro: 4.0.2
ISP: Cox cable
Modem: Motorola SB5100 SurfBoard

Symptoms: LW starts, tries to connect. In Connections window, up to 8 different connections come up briefly, then disconnect. When connection is successful, downloading is still not working (i.e. a "Need more sources" error comes up even when there are 15-20 sources for a file).

Actions taken:

- Checked with Cox; they assure me that they have no firewalls in place. Email, Web, newsreaders working with zero difficulties.
- Preference folder removed
- LW reinstalled in different folder; old copy deleted
- Desktop rebuilt

This is a relatively recent occurrence; last successful download was early November (haven't tried downloading until a few days ago).

Thoughts? Thanks!

just keep trying: if LW hasn't run for a while, your connection list might be outdated and takes a while to refresh.

"need more sources" indicates that the sources found for the file are probably busy (or just unavailable). Cleaning out your incomplete folder can sometimes help here.

(in the long run, moving to OS X is really the best solution for file-sharing on the Mac)
