Ads masquerading as vids For the last few months, I've noticed something odd. I'll do a search for a vid, and get a bunch of wmv files listed with the exact same name I searched for, only 100+ k in size, coming from 30-40 sources. All of them contain some stupid little ads for the iPod. No objections to the iPod, love it, but where the hell is this stuff coming from, how is it that they tailor themselves to the title searched for, and how can these be blocked from a search, if there is a way? It seems to me like someone has snuck in an adware (or annoy-ware) into Limewire somewhere along the way. I'm running Mac OS X, BTW. |
Greetings, It seems there is a server out there auto generating this stuff. Just be cautious and check the file sizes. This doesn't come from LimeWire but other users or the auto generating server. This link has more information on the subject. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=33743 This also another good link to read. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=32998 |
