My read me is in english.

When you open yadex & you have a dvd inserted, check the File options. Personally I save as an image but it's what suits you best.

Yes I use User Defined, but the window next to it says ....... MB
For 3.5 GB do I write 3500 and that will allow me to get a longer video done?
I thought that would mean I would get less done !!!
I afraid I find this very difficult.
Thanks for your patience though

That size option is the target ... obviously with some vid's they don't compress well so you need to set a smaller target size to get them to compress more. Remember you have audio options ... can get rid of what you don't want. Such as in another language or audio type.

It's as complex as you want it to be really.

I have downloaded the US YadeX but my stuffit9 isn't working, I get an error, so I have to spend a bit of time trying to work out what is wrong or download a new one. Once I have opened YadeX I'll get back to you.
Thanks Merelyn

A reboot sometimes fixes stuffit. Or better still to repair permissions: SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions which is basically starting up with the SHIFT key held down & then running disk utility.

Lord of the Rings

Cheers Merelyn

I think that's it. There's one for playback & another for encoding. But I think that'll do the trick.

By the way did you check out MPeg Streamclip? http://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=MPEG_StreamClip It's freeware!

Lord of the Rings,
Well I used DVDBackup then DVD2OneX, then 2x toast 1 DVD played fine.
I inserted the 2nd DVD and I got an error message. Sense Key = Medium error Sense Code+0x0C, 0x08 WRITE ERROR - RECOVERY FAILED.
I bought the verbatin discs. I thought now I might try to use YadeX
