Similar Problem

I am having a similar problem.

I am running Limewire 1.7 with OS 8.1. When I download files identified by Limewire as MP3s I cannot play them. When I get info on the downloaded file it is simply identified as a Limewire document.

I hope someone can post a solution to this problem or at least an acknowledgement that it is being corrected.

If you get any info please e-mail me at limeware@littig.com

Thanks

Troubleshooting FAQ Question 4-2

Guys ... be sure that you wait until the download file is completely downloaded and Limewire shifts it from the "Incomplete" folder to the "Shared" folder ... then it should open and run just fine.

If you are having trouble getting the File Type and File Creator and you want then download a utility like File Buddy (see shareware.com) which will give you control of type and creator. An example might be if you want your mp3's to be iTunes files and you're getting QuickTime files you can use File Buddy to change the File Creator to iTunes.
