Help for the little os8.6 imac

Hav'nt used limewire recently but when i do now I cant connect????
never used to have a problem wotz wrong???

not sure, but try removing the gnutella.net file from your .limewire folder (inside the system folder).

This will 'forget' all the hosts you used to connect to, and create a new list.

One suggestion is to make sure your Java is the latest version you can run in OS 8.6. See MRJ 2.2.5 for OS 8.1-9.2 or/& MRJ 2.2.6 the latter of which can be installed for os 8.6 despite what they say.

Which version of LW do you have?
When you deleted the LW preferences folder did you remove the entire folder or just the file Stief suggested inside the prefs folder?

Try to connect manually. ie: go to LW's menu Tools>Options>Connections & disable connect on start. Then go to menu File>Disconnect. Wait a minute or 2 & then go back to File>Connect & give it lots of time to try to connect. Perhaps 20 - 30 mins. If doesn't work, try again.

no luck

I deleted the whole folder .limewire in preferences
Yes ive already disabled the start up in connections on options
and I have limewire 4.0.10
the thing is when i start limewire the disconnected under file menu is already hightlighten so when I keep clicking connect it just ignores me and wont even highlight????? so its still staying disconnected
been reading all through the messages to see if anyone is having a bad day like me??? no luck??

Let's go thru the specifics.

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. What firewalls you have?
2. How much ram?
3. Hard Disk space available?
4. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
5. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
6. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
7. Who is your isp provider?

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?
