mp3s

I have a load of mp3s on my pc, and up until a couple of days ago they played fine. now they wont.
The files are there and the title and size are shown but no other info such as artist, bitrate etc.

I have XP home, norton anti virus and have done a system restore but to no effect.

any help would be much appreciated.

I have had this with a very few files. No idea why it happens, I suppose the files are faulty in some way. I managed to re find the files and "converted to mp3" using iTunes, and they seem to be alright. I tend to do this with files which are apparently "infected" or show an incorrect time or anything like that and they are fine afterwards. You say "a load" what does that mean as a percentage?

mp3

Thanks, but I have now deleted everything and started again.
When I said `a load` I meant I had about 150 tracks.

I did try to convert the files and also tried a program which supposedly repaired mp3`s but nothing worked so I gave up and instead decided to wipe the whole lot. gutting, but hey.

Cheers anyway
