limewire won't start

Hello, limewire basic will not start up on my powerbook G4, Mac OS X 10.3.9 and a airport extreme connection.

Just downloaded it and seems to start up, but then nothing happens

Dus anyone know the problem?

Thanx in advance. Frankey

You mean you can't connect. Perhaps you may need to forward a port (port 6346.) See http://www.portforward.com/apple/AirportBSX.htm but you'd need a static ip for that to work. Then after that see Manual port forward instructions & sample image & 2 posts after that.

Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

Can you give us a total desciption of your set up:
1. What firewalls you have?
2. How much ram?
3. Hard Disk space available?
4. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
5. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
6. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
7. What version of Limewire (LW) (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show LW version.
8. Who is your isp provider?

Try these:
1. SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions

2. Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption

3. Also have a look at the stickys in the mac osx section.
