MP3 Downloads Quit midway through! I'm on a Mac OS 9.1 and using Limewire 1.7c....... I'm able to connect and able to run a search, I'm sharing 125+ MP3 files....but when I try to download anything it reports "couldn't download" or if it starts downloading it quits about midway through a song. I never had any trouble like this with the older version of Limewire (1.7). Any suggestions? |
this the same situation I'm dealing with- I'm using OS 9.1 and limewire 1.7c and get the same thing - I'm on and downloading and then all of a sudden all my downloads just stop-no warning, no type of message- and i can't even get back on the system for about 6 hrs. I have done some research and apparently we are the victims of some spyware on our macs. I posted a question about mac anti-spyware this week but so far have not gotten any responses, only views. The FAQs recommend downloading a program called Adware, but that's for PCs only. I emailed the moderator, TuStarWarrior, and he said he would also look for something for those of us of the mac persuasion. Keep your fingers crossed. |
maybe It seems like I'm running out of memory in my "Incomplete" folder, sometimes I can download one song at a time and when it moves over to my "complete" folder I can download another one. If I download more than that or if a song is a big file it will quit because there's not enough memory in my "incomplete" folder. Anybody out there know how to allocate more RAM to this folder or am I just completely incompetent in my Mac knowledge? |
