Problems with uninstalling Limewire
 

When I clicked on Limewire today, I got the message "Unable to Launch Application - There was an error finding the LaunchAnywhere properties file (.lax). The properties file must be in the same folder as this application. Please try re-installing the application."
I got the same message when I tried uninstalling Limewire. So, I then tried re-installing Limewire as advised, but instead succeeded in downloading Limewire 17c which has not replaced the earlier version so that I can uninstall it. Limewire 17c works perfectly, so I now definitely wish to permanently uninstall my older version of Limewire to free up my disk-space.

I am using a Mac running OS9.1. I'm afraid I don't know precisely which version of Limewire is having the problem, though I dowloaded it in early September. I have already checked the FAQs and done a Search of this support site without success.

Please, can you suggest how I should go about either fixing things so the uninstaller on the earlier version functions, or uninstalling the older version of Limewire manually?

Computers are not my forte, so if this is a trivial question, please accept my sincere apologies.

I've now tried installing Limewire 1.4B from the link in FAQs. It seems to succesfully replace everything except the uninstaller.
Help!
