v1.8: You got some explaining to do, Lucy!
 

I'm a longtime Limewire user, having suggested it to many others. But this version perplexes me.

1. Statistics.
Elsewhere I read crohrs say:
"Why did we take out the statistics summary in the status line? It didn't work. Gnutella ping/pong statistics have been unreliable for months, ever since clients started throttling pings and pongs."

Well, if that's the case, what am I seeing when I click on statistics under the "Options-Statistics" button? Why can't these numbers be made available on the search window?

2. Slow, slow.
It's now taking me about 30 minutes to get a decent number of connections, which is one reason why I'd like to see the statistics. Thank goodness I kept v1.7 around so I can actually accomplish some downloads.
I will say that once I endure the long wait to achieve connections, downloads in v1.8 do seem to be much faster. Keep that feature.

3. Browse Host.
Where is it? Or is it gone since it hardly ever worked?

4. Organizing search columns.
Is there any way to set these columns and keep them set that way for all searches?

In my opinion, this "upgrade" is a major disappointment and should be pulled, reworked and then released as something useful & reliable.

For the record, I have DSL and am using Mac OS 8.6
