Uninstalling Issues

I love limewire, but, i've been having problems with it freezing up, and haven't been able to use it. I've been having trouble uninstalling not becuase it's not working but, because i don't have the uninstaller utility, or what have you.

This is sort of bugging me and i'd really like some help!

I assume you have Mac OSX Some details of your system and set up will help. give us the details you see at Apple Icon>about this mac and what java you have installed This will be seen in Limewire about if you can open it, or Applicatios>utilities.

There is no uninstall programme. Drag the Limewire application to the trash. And do the same with the preferences folder which is at Users [your name or account on the comp]>library>preferences

EDIT also ...which Limewire version?

10.4.6
Brand new macbook, but, i've been on macs for about six years..
Limewire 4.12.6

java 1.5.0_05

I tried moving it to the trash, all ov the folders, and then emptying it but, it apparently only sends a copy to the trash...:o

Are you an admin of your computer? Did you install LW or someone else?

Hold down Command, Option & Esc keys & make sure LW is not listed. If it is, force it to quit. Hold down Option key as you empty the trash.

If still doesn't empty, reboot & repeat process.

Thanks for letting us know it worked. ;) :) What did you do in the process to fix the problem?

Unfortunately the Java on OSX is not so good. Mac designs it themselves instead of letting SUN do it. You need plenty of ram, plenty of available HDD space to run LW on OSX. Also not to share more than 2,000 files & not keep too many incomplete files. You could always try one of Jum's nightly builds of LW http://www1.mager.org/LimeWire/ which sometimes work better on some people's systems than the official LW.
