browsing users files

I am having trouble browsing a users files.

I have followed the guidelines set out in the FAQ eg: put in the IP like nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn:6346 and then do a search for that. but it won't work in either 1.7 or 2.....

Any help would be appreciated.
