ok so this has been working great for me for about 3 years. last week i kept getting garbage results in my searches so i closed limewire & deleted my preferences. well when i reopened limewire, no connection can be established it just continues trying to connect. well i uninstalled limewire and deleted everything that sherlock returned as limewire, reinstalled a fresh download, still no connection. any ideas?

Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Startup & uncheck option. Close LW. Then re-open, let it settle for 10-15 mins, then go to File menu > Connect. Give it up to half an hour to try to connect. If still no good let us know.

still nothing

well i tried it twice, once letting it try to connect for a half hour, the second time over two hours. it seems this is a common problem lately and there is no rhyme or reason to it.

It might not make a difference, but you could try LW 4.0.8. There's a link for it in the Stickies at the top of this section I think. Don't forget to add a little extra ram to LW after you reinstall ... how much depends on how many shares & incompletes you have. ie: select LW program in finder, Apple key / / command + i & change the allocation figure at the top. Just add a little extra at first. I find it's always better to manually connect LW using File menu after letting LW open & settle down.

If still no good, let me know. :)
