Shared

There should be a folder within your LimeWire folder called "Shared". That's where both the file you downloaded and the expanded version probably are, unless you've configured Stuffit Expander to save the expanded files elsewhere. Try searching your hard drive with Sherlock.

Downloaded software won't open on my mac.

I'm having a similar problem, and it's not a matter of being put somewhere were I can't find it. In the folder that I have the software sent that I download it's listed under "kind" as a "limewire document", and when I try to open the software the limewire window comes up and nothing happens. This only happens to certain programs that I download. I don't know why only certain downloads are classified as "limewire document" and there seems to be no way to open these. I've tried to stuff them and expand them or open them through other programs, but nothing works. Any ideas, anybody? I run on a mac G4 450 with OS9.1.

Looks like the software files are losing the attributes that specify type and creator, so your computer doesn't know what to do with them. These can get clipped in transit - that's why apps dl'ed from supplier's sites are further protected by binhex or Macbinary.

See my answer under "limewire document" http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...?threadid=7799 for more info. I'm not sure where you'd find the correct type/creator info - perhaps get a trial version of the same program?

I just found this database of type and creator codes. It's in the form of an application for the Mac.
