downloads are so slow

I have like a T1 or 3 or something, but my downloads are extremly slow, and I only download from people who have really fast connections too. there must be something i can do, i cant wait an hour for a song to download, and someties they get almost done, and they they quit. most of the time it says that it is transfering at 0kbs. is there a better program that i can use?

Slow downloads really slow

Me too! I have a T1 connection and am having downloads that say 0 kb/s and some times pop up with .5 and maybe 6 kb/s. Why is this? At one time I was getting upwords of 30 kb/s.

Please some one help!! It is driving me crazy

Sadly, unless you own a PC, there are NO good file sharing programs.

This is it... Limewire, and the ever useless "should be gone but isn't" Hotline.
Every other program for mac is usually a clone of Gnutella or Hotline, and is even more pointless to download than the originals. I've tried just about every single file sharing app that exists for mac, and all of them are disapointing teases. All of the good apps are on Windows. Hate to be a downer, but it's the truth. If you think about it, there really isn't such a thing as a mac file sharing program, just programs made to waste time.

It would really be a miracle if someone made a file sharing app for mac, that actually was fun... and WORKED!!!

Bill Gates + Windows users = NO FUN FOR MAC!

LW allows you to control/limit the speed by which you let others to download (tools>options>Uploads>basic).
The chances are, whoever from whom you were downloading was limiting the speed, or maybe he/she had multiple clients downloading at the same time. You can't always control/predict the actual download speed, and as for this, it's not the software's problem. It's the server's.

Oh, and while I'm on the subject; just because it says "T3" on the results window, it doesn't always means it's true. Some users register less honestly (e.g. says "modem" when actually its "T3" in order to attract too many downloaders). You can't judge the book by the colour of the cover...
