The Mac Classic version doesn't have the built-in MP3 player. The other improvements that are there include ultrapeers and multi-segmented downloads. Ultrapeers reduce the amount of bandwidth needed to keep a connection and increase search results. Multi-segmented downloads allow you to download a file from multiple sources, increasing the speed you get the file.

The ONLY IMPORTANT difference between 2.1 and 1.7 is:

1.7 WORKS!!!
