Broken link to incomplete folder and all configurations have been reset - Help ? Hello all... my first post. I did some searching and couldn't find the answer to this, I hope someone here has it. Recently my Limewire installation freaked out; when I launched it, it was like it was a brand new installation. All the preferences had been reset. I had a number of large files that were in progress, but the link to the Incomplete folder appears to be broken. The physical folder is there, but Limewire doesn't seem to see it. I hope that makes sense. What I would like to do is get Limewire to recognize the Incomplete folder again so I don't need to start these downloads again from scratch. Thanks!! |
Sorry for late response. If the incomplete folder with files still shows in the Library window, select that folder, click the arrow next to it so it opens, then select all the files whilst holding down the shift key, then press Resume button. This will force all incomplete files back into the download window. They will initially show zero % but once started downloading again their previous % will show. If the previous incompletes don't show in the incomplete folder, then go to LW's preference settings, first option (Saving) will show present selected download location, change it back to previous location using the Browse button. But before you do, make a backup of your download.dat.bak files from the older incomplete folder just in case. If it does't recognise the previous incompletes, then close LW, replace those files with the backed up ones & restart LW. |
Thanks for the reply... yeah the problem was the incomplete downloads were not showing in the library. The other problem is I had a couple incomplete folders floating around. So I wonder if there was some way to merge the download.dat.bak files from seperate folders. Anyway, this will come in handy should it happen again.. thanks! |
AFAIK you can't merge those files unfortunately. So you'd need to choose one or the other. |
