Default mac user needs help with quick time

for some reason lime wire has set quick time to open all files.
and will only open mov files

how do i reset
how do i get mpeg, and all other files. if quicktime is the default setting
for all files.

please help
do i need to reset in tiger or >>????
i tried to look but am not finding solution

Default LORD ......it made me upgrade quick player yet...

thank you so much for your reply!

it made me upgrade quick player....
and it allowed an avi file to run but there was no show.
the screen was black the whole time...more or less i gave it one minute.

so i must have done something wrong.

*help*

Did you install Perian? It is the best codec plug-in to get. (You may need to reboot before it takes effect, I'm not sure.)

Also, get both VLC & MPlayer as backup players. Try opening with each of those.
