dropping connection after a very short time being connected on frostwire
 
i can connect and download for a short period of time then it drops the connection all together or it stop downloading (freezes ? i guess ?) i also have limewire on this mac which i had for a long time and it seems to work with no problem. installed frostwire thinking it was going to make downloading faster, better, but so far its has not been anything but a head ache !

I have:

Mac OS X 10.4.11
frostwire 4.17.0
DSL connection

Are you using Wireless connection? If yes that might be why. Wireless gives unreliable speeds & too much bandwidth can make the program lose connection or the wireless modem/router itself drop out totally.

Make sure both LW & FW are using different connection & listening ports. ;)

Keep your shares limited to see if that helps. :)

Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link) can help dramatically at times. It helps to rid of spam, etc. Also, too many incomplete files can affect LW or FW's connection.
