Stop this!!

LimeWire 2.2.4 in OS X:

- No chance to quit this programm the normal way. Always have to quit-force with this 3-finger-trick. = :( , because all my preferences get lost, each dam time.

- Unbelivable! Java starts freezing again, even though I have the latest Java for mac os x. = :(

WHEN WILL THIS APPLICATION SIMPLY WORK????

I always try to be patient, but now it somehow becomes ridicoulus.
I mean, for how long does these programmers are working full-time on this project now. Sorry, I would never say that they are unable or untalented to code, because Limewire itself is a powerful and featureful filesharingapp.
BUT: maybe these people are untalented in understanding that SO MANY users wonīt get happy with it unless it leaves this superdamn Java-stage. Grrrrrrr :(

Comeon people - at least for us Mac-Users this is getting too much, donīt you think?

Still: I will be patient with Limewire, but certainlx not forever īcause other things will come.

crapola!

Yes, this program is crap. Why launch something that is utterly unusable? I resent having my time wasted with someone else's ego project. Just hope I can get rid of all the spyware smeared on my hard drive. 2 thumbs down for LimeWire. It's a lemon.

LimeWire is the only application on my mac that is really able to slow down my computer and the internet-connection dramatically.
We are in 2002, and this Programm does exist for a while now.

To the programmers:
Do you really want to say that your LimeWire is really working flawlessly with the macs you are testing it?

You are working fulltime on this - didnīt you ever had the the thought
"hmm, people donīt stop complaining about Java...shouldnīt we code it as a "standalone"-application?"
Yes, this would mean work, but hey - how long will you stick to this java-crap?

How many people must complain??

Lol - when think about paying money for this....pfffffftt.

I would never ever say that _my_ problems are the problems of all the other people, but at least on a mac Limewire is one of the most worse programms ever. (in the long run....and I use Limewire since more than a year now.)

I wonīt stop trying Limewire, because when it works it works really good.

so long....grrrrr

I can hear the complaints from all the sides too - and also wonder what those programmers do all the day??

6 people working fulltime on this app - since quite a long time now.
I cannot get this in my head - whereīs the improvment?
WHERE IS IT????

Buying Limewire Pro would mean the very same errors and troubles as with the free version.
So why should I buy a software that isnīt able to simply work since such a long time?
confusing....... very very confusing.

I want to launch an application, and then I expect it to run.
I donīt want to wait many seconds (or even minutes) to simply push ONE button!
I donīt want to wait for resizing windows displaying the content.
(my limewire-preferences doesnīt even show me the full content of the window--hahahahahaha :( )

And it isnīt nice not to have the ability to quit a Programm the normal way, by selecting "quit" in the menu.

No chance for me, not with LimeWireīs OS 9-version, nor with the X-version.

it simply doesnīt work - I always have to do a force-quit
:( :( :(

U guys shouldn't complain. LW has done all they can for MAC users and I do agree that the new version is bad. But u shouldn't complain b/c w/out LW u would b in the dust. Windows has all the satellites programs they could ever need. We don't so instead of complaining downgrade (which is wot I did) and do wot u can. I give LW all the props for coming out w/this program, it surely is better than nothing!!!!!!!.

Latin.......................

manny's_mad March 21st, 2002 05:33 AM

I second Latin's opinion on down-grading. It works for me as well. I'm on 2.1 now. This does not cause the memory problem (although it still eats a lot); and 2.1 IMHO is more stable compared to the later ones.

Complaining with a positive spirit is good, 'cause it helps the developers figure out what's wrong with the baby. Insulting, on the other hand, is not good. 'Cause...well, tell me one good reason why it's good (assuming we're all civilized!).

Each time this window appears telling me "7 developers were producing....2 years....fulltime..." I donīt know if I should laugh or cry.

2 years of fulltime-working from 7 people.... and still these problems - sorry, I canīt get this into my head, and I tried to get this into my head. no way..
what a pitty :(

manny's_mad March 22nd, 2002 10:14 AM

you can laugh or cry, no one's stopping you.

and for heaven's sake, no one's asking you to get anything into your head, so give yourself a break.

Happy sharing.
