Hi everyone,
As I stated in the topic, i am new to this p2p networking world. I am taking a computer networks course in my university, and this "hot topic" attracted me a lot. My friends and I started to discuss creating a small network in campus that would be used as a file sharing network, similar to old Napster(as you can expect, a much more simpler one.. ). In our campus there is about 1000-1500 computers connected to LAN and a small centralized server can be supplied by IT department. We think that it will be easier to start the project by taking some help from the experts in the forums. Where should we start? Are there any articles that we can read and understand ? (we are new to this topic.) Is it possible for us to create something like that at this level? Any other comments or suggestions? Please inform us if you have something that can help us?Thanks for all! Emre. |

Search google for "direct connect". DC is much more suitable for that kind of network than Gnutella.
