Having proble with NAT/Firewall. Hi, I am having problem connecting to the network after my University reconfigured the Firewall. I have no control over the configuration. So is there any way I can still connect to the network. What I know about the firewall config is that there is only one outgoing port open and that is 8989 for some testing project. But when I set the port setting to 8989 still I am unable to connect to any hubs. From what I know (I might be wrong) of socket connection and firewall is if you are trying to connect someone with listening port y than your firewall should allow that outgoing port otherwise one can't connect. If this thing is correct than I think I cant connect with any hubs as they might not be listening at 8989. Can anyone help me connect to the network. There are a few things like routing one through a third party but in that case it all becomes so slow and unreliable(disconnecting whole lot of time) Thanx. |
