Tired of LimeWire

:idea:Ok so I've downloaded LW for like the 50th time, and each time I have the same problem. I have Verizon DSL and I would like to be able to download files from LW. I know that Verizon is not going to help me because they said that they dont want me to download anything that can hurt my PC. But I still need to get to download. Can anyone help me to solve this problem. My pc is a dell and I run on Windows XP.

Blackhorse 70V November 7th, 2008 03:01 AM

50 downloads!, sounds like a serious problem. Perhaps you should describe the problem. And from where are you downloading LW?

OldDeath November 7th, 2008 03:06 AM

Use an other P2P application, such as Shareaza, Phex,... There are plenty of applications out there that are much better than LW...

I am a Newbie

As new member, the forum seems to be forcing me to make a post so I dont get all the intro's about rules? I know the better place is supposed to be new mrmber intros but I'm in this post (not quite sure how?) so my apologies for rambling.

I've downloaded and installed both LW and FW in Win Vista machine successfully with no problems. I even seem to be able to run the two simultaneously downloading to the same saved directory.

Have you tried using a thumnail usb drive to get a clean copy of download instal file from friend or wifi internet cafe. Maybe your ISP is interfering with download of instal program. My 2 cents worth which aint much cuz I dont know much. WJ

Ok the problem is this I have Verizon DSL, and since then when I try to download songs from LW I always see the globe being blocked by a brick wall. I'm in the U.S. and I really dont understand why this is happening.

You're behind a firewall. More info here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...ere-first.html

I'm tired of Limewire-in fact I'm going to stop using them after I post this. I looked up adult videos and was disgusted to find child porn on this site. WTF is the matter with you people f***in sickos. Why is someone not monitoring this stuff. I'm even going to go further and see what can be done about getting them shut down until something is done about it.

Blackhorse 70V January 8th, 2009 01:12 AM

You are insulting the wrong people.

You obviously do not understand how peer-to-peer software works. There is no "they", other than the individuals who are connected, via various programs such as Limewire, to the Gnutella network. If it were possible to stop the sharing of child porn, we would have done so long ago. If you do a search on this topic in the forum, you'll find a few thousand comments and suggestions on what to do about it.

:cheesy:  This is the Funniest thing I've heard in a good long time. LOL

Obviously You don't have a Clue about what P2P is all about and what part Limewire plays.

You might consider doing a little Research before signing up to a Public Forum and Totally making a FOOL out of yourself, as you have already done.

Real quick here...LW has NO central servers, which means they have absolutly NO control over what is Shared. Thats where the Gnutella Network comes in.

Like I said ^^. Do some homework before posting some Stoopid Crap that you don't have a Clue about.

Good Luck on your Mission to get LW and the Gnutella Network shut down. (another ridiculously Stoopid comment). But Hilarious. Thanks for the Laughs to get this day started.

Never heared of what P2P is all about? How do you want to shut down an entire decentralized P2P network composed of millions of independent computers? (Apart from starting a nuclear war which is probable to disrupt the entire interent by destroying the central communication servers.) :laugh_2:
Also, there is no "this site"... In case you haven't figured out yet, you are downloading and seraching from other peoples computers.
Anyway, I am looking forward to your measures to shut down Gnutella! Good luck!
And in case you succeed: :aweof: (I will pray to you as my new god)

OldDeath January 29th, 2009 06:06 AM

Shareaza. But you need to set it up correctly. ^^ (Like almost every filesharing software...)

wcaweston January 29th, 2009 03:09 PM

how to I tranfers my saved files to lw folder?? thanks

Lord of the Rings January 29th, 2009 03:12 PM

Sorry your question is irrelevent to this topic and is also in the wrong forum section.
Go to the Limewire sections of the forums. Create a new thread in one of the LW sections. :)

wcaweston January 30th, 2009 06:52 AM

I must have made an error my questionwas only how to tranfer dowloaded files (music) into lw folder.. have a great day and thanks for your time

Lord of the Rings January 30th, 2009 08:18 AM

If you could imagine a forum being similar to a library of encyclopaedias. It is neatly organised so topics are easily found. If we are talking about Eels under the encyclopaedia edition E, then if someone posts in something about a topic that should be listed under another encyclopaedia edition R ... then it gets messy.

Or perhaps imagine rooms with different languages. If we are speaking dutch here & you ignore the english speaking room & push a door open & enter & start speaking english in here ... then we all feel a little confused.

I hope you are not offended. Just trying to point out that there are places for each type of question on the forums. :)

Each forum & forum sub-section has a description describing what content it caters for at the top of the page. ;)
