is there any working opensource client for ubuntu ?

I can't find any working open source client for ubuntu.
gtk-gnutella - IS NOT WORKING
mutella - have no host list to connect to

any other open source apps for ubuntu ?

Why is gtk-gnutella not working for you? - man if you wanna check if gtk-gnutela is not working you can try to install ubuntu and then install gtk-gnutella - run it and you will see that IT IS NOT WORKING - I don't know why and I don't really care why - I just "can't find any working open source client for ubuntu."

And BTW, only because I've asked you a question, there is no need to become rude... Maybe I should ask differently: How is it not running? I mean, is it not connecting, not downloading or is the program not starting?
We might be able to make the program run for you, if you are more cooperative.

PS.: There are thousands of people who seem to be using gtk-g on ubuntu, so it is highly improbable that it doesn't run at all on ubuntu powered systems...

On that topic of GTK, I've been using GTK on OSX on & off past couple of months & connecting fine. Even as an ultrapeer. I believe Birdy has had similar experience on Windows. But there's been several GTK updates over 12 months I believe. Which is great. The development on GTK went quiet for a while before that. Great to see there's enthusiasm back in developing GTK, it has a lot of pluses in my book. Particularly when run in advanced mode. Some of the options leave some other gnutella clients for dead.

GTK has a force-update approach. If you don't update your version won't work.

On a side note: We're currently developing a new client with the name of Quazaa. It will be (once finished) a cross-platform alternative for Shareaza. For now it's in pre-alpha state, however we're looking forward to our first alpha release soon, as the first network we're implementing (G2) is speedily approaching maturnity and some other functionalities (such as the security manager or the library file manager) are also almost finished.

So in case anyone is interested or still looking for some fresh client able to run under ubuntu, have a look.

Sounds interesting to hear. Good to hear new developments. And cross-platform also! Linux/variations and Mac often lack the choices of applications like those available on Windows.
