Default Limewire on Windows Vista RC1 (5600)

Ive had Windows Vista beta 2 for a while already, in every single build ive had so far, ive had trouble with Limewire. When opening limewire, my windows visual theme changes from animated windows aero glass theme to the windows aero basic theme. The visual elements in limewire disable my windows theme.

Limewire also crashes as well sometimes.

Will there be support for this new OS?
Any solutions with the visual look?

I have been running LimeWire on Vista beta 2 for quite a while but never had any of the problems you report. The only problem I had is LimeWire would not restart the incomplete files automatically, I had to manually start them. I was running Java 6 though which is also a beta you might want to give it a try. You can get it at the link below.

Default Limewire for Vista

Can someone help me out using Limewire on Windows Vista!?!? I have always used limewire and now that I upgraded my laptop and it has Vista, I can not get limewire to work at all. I tried downloading it and uninstalling it and re-downloading it but I get an icon on my desktop that will not work.

Do you have Java 1.6? You'll need to have that. Use the link below & take the JRE offline installer. Remove your current Java version before you install the new one

When you reinstalled LW, did you make sure to use the offline installer?

See if that helps. Otherwise, have a look at the threads here in this Vista section of the forum...there's quite a bit of helpful info for Vista users now.

I just tried doing that. I installed JRE offline. I uninstalled Mcafee. And I reinstalled limewire three times offline but I get the error message every time. Anything else I can do. I did read the other forums but they pretty much had the same response as yours
