Can't connect with Vista
 
I have upgraded to Vista and Limewire 4.13 beta and cannot get a connection. In fact when I start limewire and it cycles isp's for connections I lose all internet connection until I shut limewire down or restart. I like Vista, but man it has issues.
my info is:
1. what OS version? (eg: Windows 98, XP,OSX, Vista)
Windows Vista
2. What firewalls you have ?
Mcafee
3. How much ram ?
2G
4. Hard Disk space available ?
80Gb
5. Connection type (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) ?
Broadband/comcast
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers ?
linksys wrt54g
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.) ?
home
8. What version,LimeWire & Java,Go to L/W's Help/About L/W, THIS show both LW & Java version.?

12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.?

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface ?
i did, it dissapeared after installed new java, now its back. still not working
14. Have you given full permisions for LimeWire to pass through your Firewall ?
yes.
15. XP users, Please state XP firewall on or off.?

It's McAfee that is doing this to you....This poster found a way around this....

When you have done this and if you still see a wall in front of the globe, you will have to Port Forward your router as it is Nat Firewalled as well...
