Limewire to Itunes..Help

Hello Everyone, I need alot of help with my LimeWire software. I have been using Limewire for awhile now to download my music. But in Early Feb of this year, I got a new laptop which happens to be the Windows Vista. Then a last week I got an Ipod, now a friend told me that I can use my LimeWire songs on my Ipod instead of buying them.

My friend showed me how to trasnfer the songs onto Itunes on her computer (Windows 2000), by selecting Enqueue and then under the MP3 playlist select save as, title it under a folder you made. Open up Itunes press CTRL + O and click the song and it should appear in your Library. I have tried it on my computer and it doesn't work at all. I have tried everything I can, and it still doesn't work.

I looked under the Forum pages and seen something about making a Shared Folder, but I'm not sure on how to do that. Well I do know how, but it doesn't seem to show all my songs, when I press the Explore button. This has gotten me very frustrated, and I need someone's help on what exactly to do. I have never actually learned the "basics" of LimeWire only used it for downloading music.:)

On windows, the downloads may initially go to the Saved Files folder, & later transfered to the Shared folder. The Shared folder is the default name for your downloads folder. But some people rename it to whatever they choose.

1. For fast & easy access, go to your LW Library window, select Saved Files folder & press the Explore button. Sample image here: Using Library Explore button to access downld folder (click on link) & the folder will open up for you. Then you can drag & drop files from here. In your case your download folder may be called something else. BTW you can use this technique on any of the folders listed in your Library window to access them. ;)

2. How to transfer music to my iPod (& iTunes) so as you can see there's more than one way to transfer music to iTunes. Then after that you can transfer to iPod. And remember, ignore the LW playlist you see in your iTunes. It can be played but not copied or burnt. Also, I recommend manual updating of your iPod. :)
