video preview feature error? When i try to preview some video that im downloading i get a very annoying error message...[[[Windows media player cannot play the file.the player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file]]]...How can i get rid of this problem? It only does this on some vids, not all. Thank~ |
Try one of these codec packs: XP Codec Pack 2.0.6, K-Litecode Codec Pack. They both work well for WMP. Also try VLC media player, it has the codecs built in and is very reliable. I keep it on hand just for files that won't play right in WMP. It's a good back up for other players. More info: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/tips-t...p3-fixers.html |
The vista codec pac might be better for Vista...;) Vista Codec Package v4.4.4 (freeware) |
Mind you, the Windows Media Player is quite "naff" when it comes to previewing, the VLC media player is much better. For example, you can preview as little as 5% of a video download with VLC but I personally like to wait until I have 10% of a download. UK Bob |
