I hope your can help me. :rolleyes_2: Our firewalls: Windows Firewall (Turned off) I think my Norton Protection Center also have a kind of firewall. And maybe my Access point also have? PS: Sorry for my (bad ?) english, but I'm only a Danish teenager so.. :whistling: |
If you have a Norton firewall (ask your Dad if you're not sure), turn off the windows firewall & configure the Norton to allow LW. PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall Try this earlier version of Java. Use the JRE offline installer & remove your current Java before you install this version. Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 That router does have a firewall, but I can't find any instructions for port forwarding. I can't even download the user guide to check:cry: Have a look at the manual that came with the router...see if there are any instructions. You could also have a look at some of the Zonet models here. Check the instructions & see if anything looks similar to your router. PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall |
Thanks for help! :xeri_ok1ani: The first two links didn't help, but the third seems to be good. The router similar to my is this one: ZSR0104CPv2 but I don't know what to write in external and internal port. EDIT: And I don't know what to write (switch) in the "Protocol". |
In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config. You'll see LW's listening port. Make sure that the same port number's in the 'manual port forward' box on that same LW page. Put that number into internal & external port fields. As for the protocol, you'll have one rule for TCP (protocol) & another for UDP (protocol). :) |
It didn't help. Now at stand like this and I still doesn't have connection.: ID Rule Name Internal IP Protocol External Port Internal Port Delete 1 LimeWire2 192.168.2.1 UDP 37903 37903 2 LimeWire 192.168.2.1 TCP 37903 37903 The Internal IP is the same as I write in the address bar. |

The internal IP that you need will be the static IP address that you set up before port forwarding;) If you go back to those port forwarding instructions, you'll see a link to follow for instructions to set up a static IP address. Just follow those directions carefully. |
I can't find my Static IP. My External IP i know. I have read the articles again, but I can't find it. |
You have to create a static IP, if your computer doesn't already have one. Click on the link below & you'll find instructions (with screenshots) to help you. PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall |
I have a problem: On the last picture: Shut the dot stand in auto obtain IP or Use the following IP address?? It stand right now in the Auto obtain IP. I have tried both and the internet connection is still fine. :D |
If your computer didn't already have a static IP address, so you set one up, put the dot next to 'use the following IP address'. |
OK. And after that (put the dot and write the address (and clicking OK)) ... I have found my static IP by you PortFoward link. (Filled out the fields) But ... eehh ... how to describe ... [IMAGE] What todo?? EDIT: Problem with image-link: delete ********* and insert i m a g e s c h a c k . u s |
When you first started setting up a static IP address, you had to go Start > Run > type in cmd > type in ipconfig/all. Now all the info appears . Look through all that info until you see IPv4, with an IP address next to it. Is the static IP in your screenshot the same as the number that is next to IPv4? It should be the same. If you can't change the IP field within your router, I think you have the wrong numbers in your static IP. My static IP begins with 192.168. Just try something...delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here. Fixes for LimeWire This will kill all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later. LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista See if LW will at least connect after that, even if the firewall icon still shows. You could also try downloading LW 4.12.11...see if that connects (even with the firewall icon). |
Sorry for late answer! Since last I have got LW v4.12.14! And I have done that above, but nothing help. I have also found my static IP. So ... what now! |
Have you set up port forwarding, using your static IP address? Try changing ports. In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to 64049 > Apply > ok. You'll also have to forward this port number within your router. Remember that LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router all have to be the same number. Does LW connect on your Dad's XP computer? Can you find out who your ISP is (who you pay for internet access)? Did you make sure that your Norton firewall was allowing LW? If you go back to the link I left in my first post, you'll see instructions for Norton 2007. This link might help, as well. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/226610-post6.html |
