Question Cannot Connect... tried everything... need major help please!

Hi

I have just downloaded Limewire, and it will not connect. I only get one bar, and says it is trying to connect to the network. I am currently running Windows Vista Ultimate. Before when I had Windows XP, Limewire ran perfectly fine.

I have tried everything. I have configured Windows Firewall, I have went to Port Forward and followed instructions to my Actiontec GT704-WG router, and I still can't do it. I even did all the suggestions on the Limewire options. I have no more options. I have even tried Frostwire, and I still can't connect. Even my uTorrent can't get anything either.

I would appreciate all the help I can get. I am really stuck. Thank you for all your help, I really appreciate it!

And here is some information that is useful for you to help me out, to make things easier.

1. OS version? Windows Vista Ultimate
2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall
3. How much ram? 512 mb
4. Hard Disk space available? 40 GB
5. Connection type? Wireless
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Actiontec GT704-WG
7. Where are you trying to connect from? My home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Limewire 4.14.8-----Java 1.5.0_11
9. Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider) Verizon DSL
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? My test worked, althogh I still can't connect.
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I am on wireless connection from my router. My other desktop computer is connected via ethernet. We do not share anything.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. When I had Windows XP, Limewire worked perfectly, and back then I had a Westell 6100 modem. My Actiontec router is brand new.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...1&d=1158099342 Yes I do.
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Trying to do both. no avail.
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall Just Windows Firewall and Windows Defender.
16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country USA
