Limewire not connecting no matter what I do

I just got my new Dell inspiron last week and wanted to put limewire on. This computer does have windows vista ultimate..I thought that wouldn't matter but I was wrong. It wont connect to limewire AT ALL even when I have zone alarm off, windows firewall off, windows defender off..I don't have macaffe at all but have avg running but that too I turned off and it STILL WONT CONNECT.
Anyone else have anything that I can try?

when I had my zone alarm running I put limewires IP address in so it would go through but no luck. Then I closed just about everything that could have been blocking it from connecting. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling..and downloaded the new one doing the same for that.

Try uninstalling both LW & ZA, then reinstall LW first. After that, reinstall ZA. This has worked for a few Vista users...see post #6 of this thread.

ahhh unfortunetly
that didn't work

apparently my computer really doesn't like limewire..
