It sounds like your ISP, a sure sign of this is when you cannot get the test page to connect...

So try Port forwarding your modem/router, because Verizon may be blocking port number 6346...
Here are your instructions...
Port Forwarding for the Actiontec MI-424-WR

When you need to do the Static IP part these are the DNS server numbers you will need (if they don't show up)...;)
USA, DSL, Verizon:
DNS : 68.238.112.12
Secondary DNS : 68.238.96.12

im an experienced user and i have basically the same problem. i am on a laptop and im using a school wireless connection. what do i do

wondering why October 13th, 2007 02:16 PM

Your School probably doesn't allow p2p, so they block it...Check around and see if anyone does use p2p successfully, if they do post these details...

help

i did all the steps but i couldn't get the IP browser page to load

wondering why October 14th, 2007 12:34 PM

Usually when the test page doesn't work it means your being blocked by your ISP...
Have you been doing heavy downloading ??
Maybe you have popped up on Verizons radar as a heavy downloader...
Try giving them a call and see what they say...;)

help

i entered the static ips that i created and none brought me anywhere. I entered my actual ip and it brough me to verizons sign on page but the username password combo doesnt work for them. What do i do?

wondering why October 16th, 2007 12:14 PM

Did you enter this IP into your browser ...By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.0.1.
Don't enter the static IP number into your browser...

Try contacting Verizon and ask them what them what the user name and password is for your modem/router...;)

rc1829000 October 16th, 2007 03:16 PM

i know im your favorite

when entering the information to set up the port there are several things that differ from the guide. What do i put for: Networked computer, protocol (TCP AND UDP AREN'T OPTIONS AND THATS WHAT THE PORT FORWARDING WEBSITE INSTUCTED), wan connection type, forward to port, and when should this occur. I'm almost there, your help is very appreciated.

wondering why October 17th, 2007 04:39 AM

Did you click on the little Add option and then Add Server Ports ??

You should then see the TCP box and enter the port number you chose..
Then you click on Add again and then the Add Server Ports again...
Then you select the UDP box and add the same port number as the TCP box...
And then select Add again...phew...lol...

Then click the Ok button.

Select Specify Address from the Networked Computer/Device list.

Enter the ip address to forward these ports to into the Networked Computer/Device box.

If you are forwarding ports so you can run a program on your computer, you should enter your computer's ip address into that box.

Leave Wan Connection Type set to All Broadband Devices.

Leave Forward Port To set to Same as Incoming Port.

Leave When should this rule occur set to Always.

Click the Ok button

this is what comes up after clicking ad and it doesn't let me pick the port. I tried filling out all that i could with my regular ip (not the static one right? what'd I make that for anyways?), no public ip, but it still wouldn't connect to limewire. Again, I really appreciate you trying to help me out.

wondering why October 18th, 2007 12:44 PM

You need the Static Ip number or it wont work....

What port number did you choose ??

Try calling the application Lime and see what happens...

I'm not really sure what's going on with it...

rc1829000 October 18th, 2007 03:12 PM

i chose port 58763. I tried putting the static into the Network/computer device address and it still wouldn't work. telling it what port i have might be the problem because it won't let me tell it what port i chose, it just says application Limewire and
TCPAny -> 6346UDPAny -> 6346 ^ thats written where ports is and i can't change it.

help

so what should i do now?

gdrocks October 24th, 2007 10:27 PM

For chandra(aka)[MRS.PYRO]

Try using an ethernet cord. Sometimes the school wireless network won't let you get onto any applications including limewire and utorrent.

It worked for me when i used an ethernet cord :wasntme:

rc1829000 October 25th, 2007 03:23 AM

Fixed It!!!

I just system restored to a month ago in safe mode (which i didn't know it had to be in) . It fixed Limewire. Thanks everyone for your help.:xeri_ok1ani:
