Default 2 0f four users can't search

Hi, Have got new computer with Vista home premium (plenty of memory etc) and have put limewire on each users page but only mine (administrator) and one other users (standard) will actually connect and search so we can download.
I've enabled limewire on the allowed sites etc and only use McAfee firewall which doesn't seem to be interfering with the ones that are working.
Keep getting message that "limewire is currently connecting to the network. You may not get any search results until it is connected" Any help or advice on how to get around this so everyone can download music would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

From what I can ascertain New Modems from OPEN Networks; any good? - Westnet (down to at least half way down page) it may be a firmware issue (though that is an oldish article). My guess is it still does have issues.

Make sure all the LW's that run thru that device use different ports. That may also mean changing your McAffee firewall settings. For LW, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls. Also, Tools>Options>Performance & disable Ultrapeer capabilities on all LWs. Chances you won't be able to become one anyway with firewall detection.

On your iconnectaccess 624 make sure UPnP is enabled. Tell us if UPnP was not enabled on it. You will need to log into the device to check.

All LW's do have a different port and I've disabled the Ultrapeer capability as suggested. The UPnP wasn't enabled on the router so I managed to work out where to go to enable it. Also put tick in McAfee firewall config to open UPnP port. Unfortunately still not having any luck! any other suggestions? Thanks again...

Sounds like you've done all the right things. Did you reboot the router & the computer?

Is there any way to break this all down bit by bit? eg: disable software firewall & see if that makes any difference. Connect by bypassing the iconnectaccess 624. If not, then try just connecting one.
Question is whether it's a software firewall or the iconnectaccess 624 problem.

Still no luck.....Tried rebooting router & computer again coz couldn't remember if did it first time. Also tried turning off the McAfee firewall but that didn't make any difference either.
don't know if this info makes a difference but only just noticed that on my user acct (admin) there is no brick wall in front of the globe but is on the other 3, including the one that is working. Also on the two that aren't there is one green bar in the connection area.
Wouldn't have a clue as to how to bypass the router to see if problem is there.
Cheers...

I'll get some others to look at your problem. I am not a Vista or XP user, & only use Windows 2000 occasionally for testing purposes mostly.

My thoughts, if we can't find an answer is to try another p2p client for those accounts where LW is not working. Options are FrostWire or Phex to see if you have the same problems, are my recommendations. FrostWire is almost identical to LW. Phex is different, has some nice options such as size filter, but is not as easy to understand to use at first look; but I really like Phex. (What's more, you can even get direct help from the programmers in the Phex section on this forum, unlike the programmers of LW who now refuse to come here due to pure very unpleasant arrogance.)

Thumbs up

Not sure what bit ended up making it work but I reinstalled LW after going through all the steps suggested and it's now working on all accounts. Though am thinking I'll check out the Phex site as suggested if they give more direct help.
Thanks again for all of the advice and time, greatly appreciated!
Cheers!
