There seems to be a problem with these 3 not getting along. Vista + Zone Alarm + Limewire. Some people have had Luck with this Fix. See Link Below.

Try uninstalling both LW & ZA, then reinstall LW first. After that, reinstall ZA. This has worked for a few Vista users...see post #6 of this thread Can't connect using Vista.

Also Take a look here.

Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54G

Hope This Helps. :D

This has worked for quite a few Vista users: Uninstall both ZA & LW (uninstall LW via start > all programs > limewire & use the uninstll option).
Next, reinstall LW & make sure to use the offline installer (cancel the dialog box which pops up when you click to download LW & choose the option to download the offline installer).
Finally, reinstall ZA.

In LW file > disconnect. Wait 5 mins, then file > connect.
In LW tools > options > connections, make sure that 'connect on startup' is ticked.

Try port forwarding for your Linksys. The instructions are here.
Port Forwarding for the Linksys WRT54G
Don't forget the step of setting up a static IP address, or port forwarding won't work!
LW's listening port, port in the 'manual port forward' box & port forwarded within the router should all be the same number.

If you still can't connect, try using this older version of Java. Download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions on the computer, before you install this one.

Okay heres what happened. I uninstalled Zonealarm and LW, and reinstalled LW and it worked fine. Got all of the bars. But i installed Zonealarm and it started not to work. So the problem must be with zonealarm and Limewire...... Any ideas. Thanks!!!

This should help, if you want to get rid of ZoneAlarm.
I would use Avast before AVG. Just my opinion.
All below is Free :yahoo:

AVG = http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-...-virus/us/frt/0

COMMODO = http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

PEERGUARDIAN = http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/ and click on the one thats for your system...if xp its the 2nd one down 0.84MiB

http://www.avast.com/ AV

http://www.ccleaner.com/

http://www.spybot.info/

Hope this helps.
