I had limewire for like 5 months (the free version), then i reinstalled a newer version of vista on my laptop and now i bought the pro version. but for some reason it will not connect now. im not sure why. does anyone no what the heck i can do to fix this

1. OS version? Windows Vista
2. What firewalls you have? Standard
3. How much ram? Not Sure, but def enough
4. Hard Disk space available? 130gb
5. Connection type? cox high speed (wireless)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? not sure
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? home

10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it said your test worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. No
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes
14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? UPnp enabled
15. What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall. None

Make sure that LW's being allowed access through the Windows firewall.

Try the advice here: all of a sudden will not connect (a fix to try)
Start off by deleting LW's preferences folder & changing Java versions. Read the whole thread.

Things are a bit different for Vista when finding the preferences folder & other files/folders within Application Data. This thread should help with that: LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista
You'll know if you've deleted the preferences folder properly...when you start LW, you'll go through the setup wizard again & all the settings within LW's options will have changed.

If nothing there helps, try to find out the brand & model of your modem/router. If nothing's showing on top of the device, have a look underneath.
