Cant Connect - Vista/Mcafee (preload)

I purchase a pc with Vista preloaded. My other pc was old and ran XP but Limewire worked great. I have tried a lot of things but nothing seems to be able to allow me connect. It does have the firewall at the bottom of the limewire screen. Currently I have zone alarm and avg loaded. I have tried to unload zone alarm and it still does not work. I have made sure that Microsoft is allowing limewire even though it is shut off. My other pc works fine on a different port out the same router so that is not the problem. I am running 4.14.8. Here is the part I dont. Microsoft shows I have three firewalls. I have zone alarm shut off, windows firewall shut off but cant find the mcafee firewall to turn it off. I never installed mcafee and it shows as ON. I think if I can turn that one off, I can make my limewire work. Its not in the installed software section to remove it and its not a suite. I just cant find it and its driving me crazy... Any help would be appreciated....

its DEFINITELY ur firewall.
if its too tricky to configure it to allow limewire, then i'd switch to Frostwire until ur pc is up and running properly again. FrostWire is virtually EXCATLY the same as Limewire. Also don't worry, you'll have all your files still, and since it allows more connection ports it shouldnt be affected by a firewall

Go to Start > All Programs and see if you can find McAfee from there...

You need to choose between McAfee or ZoneAlarm, it's not wise to have both, it will leave you unprotected as they will clash...

Uninstall the one you don't want to keep...

If you decide to stick with ZA try this fix, it has worked for many...

If you decide to stick with McAfee (make sure it's not just a trial period)...
Try this advice...
