Default cannot connect to network using vista?

i have recently bought a new laptop, an acer aspire 5920. it runs real smooth and it does everything i want it to do, except for connecting to the gnutella network. unfortunately vista was installed on the laptop, which i think is one of the most irritating operating systems there is. i have disabled windows firewall and have configurated zonealarm in such a way that it should allow limewire to connect to the network (i'm using 4.14 by the way). but for some reason limewire, and also forstwire 4.13, indicates that i am still behind a firewall
i already checked other threads to find a solution for my problem but i can't find anything. also i've checked whether i can connect with port 6346 and this isn't a problem. when i used win98 before limewire always runned perfectly, so at least i can say that there is nothing wrong with my internet connection, modem or internet provider. please help because i really don't know what to do anymore

greetings from the netherlands

I'm interested in this as well. I'm on Vista Home Premium. I've used Limewire for a long time on XP and never had any issues. I've tried ver. 4.14 and the beta with no luck. Any help?

YOUR SEARCH MAY NOT RETURN MANY RESULTS UNTIL YOU ARE FULLY CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK." I HAVE WINDOWS VISTA...I'VE TRIED UNINSTALLING AND REINSTALLING LIMEWIRE AND STILL THE SAME PROBLEM.
