It may have something to do with you uninstalling the Old Version. No need to do that. During the upgrade or new install LW will uninstall the Old Version.
Try Starting from scratch. Use the LW Uninstaller, then search your HDD for any remnants and Delete them. Download Ccleaner (in my sig) and clean up your registry. Now start fresh. Only Download LW from here Lime Wire » Official Website & Free Download, BitTorrent «. Hope this helps.
