When i update to 4.18 i lost saved music

Hi,
I recently updated to Limewire 4.18 and now when i go into itunes to play my music it says the original file can no longer be located. This happened when i updated to 4.16 as well.
Does anyone know why this happened or how i can get all my songs back? Or even how to stop this happening in the future?
