can hear music, can barely hear audio

I have Windows Vista Home Basic and LimeWire 4.18.8 I can download audio files but the audio is barely audible. I can however, hear the music just fine. Whats the problem, thanks?

on what?
you say audio files....
I've seen the same thing a few times when things went south on my system and movie files would have all the sound effects, but the voices were very muted..

if that is the case then your ac3 (surround sound) filters are whacked....try installing the Klite codec pac...

Thanks. What is the Klite codec pac? Is it available through Limewire or do I download it separately.I also just notice a bunch of wierd noises after the song stops of a certain audio file. Also, I have DIAL UP internet, does that make a difference ?

the klite codec pac is a bunch of things necessary to play lots of video files...part of video files is of course the audio....if your situation is caused by a surround sound file then perhaps the codec pac will fix it...

I would google it and download it online...I guess since you are on a dial up connection download the basic version as opposed to the mega version...

as far as the noises...well, I really wouldn't know...could be a lot of things...since the audio file itself isn't adversely affected I would just deal with it, or try and find some sort of audio editor and remove that part of the file..

OK, I downloaded K-lite and it still sounds the same, music but no audio. Is there any way to activate the k lite

Thanks, I figured out what the problem was. I had to rght-click the speaker icon, click playback, and click audio. THanks for your help.
