limewire beta (looking for Beta, also downloaded movies have sound but no picture)
 

i heard there was a beta with faster and better downloads and i cant find it i can only find the 4.18.8 version also when i download a movie i can hear it but it doesnt show it how do i fix that:(:confused:

There is a beta, that's all I know; someone else here may have more info.

You need to install new CODECs to see your videos. You can download a free CODEC pack for your player, or you can get another player with CODECs installed. Either method is free and easy. AFAIK there's no Beta out now. The last Beta I know of was 4.18.1.

Normally, when there's a Beta out, you'll see a 'get Beta' button on the LW download page... there isn't one on the page at the moment:)

Normally if a beta is available it would be found at Lime Wire » Download LimeWire Beta. Also a link leading to it from the download page & those with Pro would have a link to their pro version beta on their download page, but seems it's not publicly available at moment. It might be more of an alpha than a beta.

I am aware LW 5.0 is not too far away from being released, whilst I say that it still might be a while.

Also .. normally beta versions have 'odd' version numbers, such as 4.13, 4.15, 4.17, etc. so we would presume next beta would be 4.19.x.
