Did you burn an Audio CD or a data/mp3 CD? Lots of players won't play mp3 CDs, so try burning an Audio CD & see if that makes a difference

Which type of CD are you using? Some players don't like CD-RW (re-writable CDs). If you've been using CD-RW, try burning to a CD-R (recordable) disc instead
