Lord of the Rings has a distinguished reputation

That's a problem with WMP.

It means WMP does not have the correct codec to play the format the video was encoded into. We normally recommend VLC because it has in-built codecs, is generally very reliable for all video types you find. CODECs list for Movies/Alternate players
