cant get it to work (i click on the desktop limewire icon-absulutly nothing happens)

i was thinking about buying the pro series settup,but i cant even get the basic to work on my pc.

i have been trying to connect to this program for 2 hours now and am about to giveup.

downloaded basic on windows vista 64bit
i click on the desktop limewire icon-absulutly nothing happens

i have tryed everthing i can think of,it will not connect at all

why would i buy this if i cant even get the basic program to work

any advice on what to do?
