Unhappy I'm new. Can't open any exe.

I've been using limewire for only a few days now and I have been able to find everything I want. The problem is that the are all exe. files and I can't open any of them. I get a security error when trying to open it within the program and I get another error when trying to open it from a folder.

Is there something I am doing wrong? Maybe a setting that I need to change? I've tried many files and they all do the same thing. All of the other files open find which is why I don't understand what the problem with the exe. files is.

Very frustrating. Please Help!

Here's what it looks like. I get this exact same error every time. Note the wierd Naughty Player installation that pops up behind the error. I just ran a scan for any spyware, adware, or viruses and everything came up clean.

Hmm, that naughty player seems to be the problem.
Perhaps you should run spysweeper and post a log (but not on here)
I googeled a little and it came up with these forums:

Thanks. I ran that program and the good news is that it got rid of some spyware I didn't know about. The bad news is that that naughty player is still there. Grrrrrrrr.

I ran my adaware, spybot, and anti-virus scans as well. It all says that I'm totally clean.
I was able to investigate and I found out who is responsible for that naughty player. I just can't seem to do anything about it. I moved the first error box and this is what it looks like. It's from the WISE company. I searched my files and the only thing I could find with WISE in it was a couple of programs that has UNWISE which is a uninstall program.

Also, I can open any other exe. that doesn't come throught Limewire. Only the exe. files from Limewire don't work.

Wierd.

Unfortunately, it seems that Limewire is the only program that causes me these problems. I've downloaded other P2P programs and all of thier exe. files open fine. Does Limewire come with any spyware that might be hard to remove? I can't think of any other reason why this would happen.

Anyways, I would really like to get Limewire working again because the other programs don't have nearly as many files. This is definitely a strange problem.

I've seen the identical problem on another thread. Just keep your comp. constantly monitored for virus & spyware.

rob046,
Have you posted a HijackThis log on the page I gave the link of ?
If you did, post back under the same thread over there and tell about that naughty player.
BTW give us the url for your thread, we might all benefit from it
