Hello,
Hope I am sending my problem to the correct thread? Downloaded LW 5.5.9 from Gnutella and followed the direction's to install the program. Got 2 problems. 1. Program locks up when I try and change to download folder where I would like my download's to go ie: C:/Users/luvst/music. Have to do the Alt-Ctrl-Delete and sign out to get out of the program. 2. When I search for music I get few to no results from the search. Why is this happening?[email protected] I sent my information as a Word Doc hope that is ok. Don't have a way to convert the Word Doc. Edit: email address edited out. There's lots of people and BOTs that scan websites and forums looking for email addresses to sell to marketing spammers, etc. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; February 17th, 2018 at 09:50 PM. If you install WireShare instead you can uninstall both LimeWire and the Java Fix. Quote:
If you're using this at work then I'm guessing not multi-day sessions. For super long sessions port forwarding is reliable whereas UPnP can become unreliable & totally stop working for the remainder of that session. Quote:
It's obsolete for using on the network these days, technology surpassed; not sure be able to connect to any hosts whatsoever.I would be interested to see how things improve after you install WireShare if you are willing to try. |

Thank you for the reply. I will try WireShare and see if I still have the same problems. Just got spoiled with LW. When using it on the Computer I built running XP and the computer I bought running Windows 7. Didn't have any problems and great download speed and selection of downloads.

C:\Documents and Settings\*yourusername*\AppData\Roaming\Limewire One way to get there is Search > type/paste %appdata% into the text field. Then open the LimeWire folder and remove the downloads file and put it to the side. After installing WireShare you can place the downloads.dat file within the WireShare settings folder instead. But this must not occur whilst WireShare is open. |
